The CL is 2 miles from the village of Pontyberem, 7 miles to Lllanelli and 9 miles to the market town of Carmarthen. For those who enjoy walking and cycling there are numerous routes to enjoy in the wonderful Carmarthenshire Countryside. The nearby village of Pontyberem has pubs, shops, take-aways and places to eat. There is also Swiss Valley Garden Centre, Botanical Garden of Wales, Llanelli and Mynydd Mawr Railway, Paxton's Tower, Dryslwyn Castle, Mynydd Mawr Woodland Park, Ffos Las Racecourse. In the County town of Carmarthen, you can find a good range of shops and small markets. Carmarthen is said to be connected to Merlin and its Roman Heritage. Cwrty Cledyn dates back from the early 1800's, it is situated next to a working dairy farm and overlooks the valley. Pontyberem was a mining village, the mine known as Pentremawr Colliery opened around 1870 and closed in 1989.
