Metcalfe House offers a small and friendly certificated location for caravans and motorhomes. Situated in a rural position, near Somerton in the picturesque village of Cimpton Dundon with a pub, post office and an abundance of walks and cycle rides available in the immediate area. The quiet, level site provides electric hook up and drinking water at each pitch. The gate to the rear of the site gives direct access to the surrounding public footpaths including the Dundon Beacon Nature Reserve and Coombe Hill Wood. The Somerset Levels with nature reserves at Westhay and Shapwick Heath are essential for birdwatchers. Glastonbury Tor & Abbey, Wells Cathedral and a choice of National Trust Properties, including Montacute House and Stourhead (which has world recognition) are all on our doorstep. Many picturesque and historical Somerset villages are only a few miles away eg- Wedmore, Sherborne and Shaftesbury - home of the classic 'Hovis' advert or a little further to Cerne Abbas and Milton Abbas. Our superb location is an ideal base for exploring the many attractions that Somerset has to offer. For nature lovers there are the Mendip Hills and Polden Hills. For families, the coastal beaches of Weston Super Mare, Burnham on Sea, nearby Fleet Air Arm Museum, Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole as well as Clarke's Designer Outlet village in Street.  A visit to Somerset wouldn't be complete without a trip to Thatchers Cider with its restaurant and shop, or the mure rustic experience of Wilkins Cider Farm just down the road. Taunton, Bath and Bristol are all under an hour and provide the perfect choice for day trips. There is also the wonderful Viaduct Fishery specialising in coarse fishing with a beautiful peaceful vista in which to relax in the heart of the Cary Valley. All you need is simply on our doorstep.
