Come to our quiet site (adults only and no dogs) in rural Staffordshire and be pleasantly surprised by our rolling countryside, winding rivers and friendly villages set in the National Forest. It is a great base for visiting historic houses, castles and market towns, the National Memorial Arboretum and the famous Burton breweries. The CL is on our family farm where we rear Hereford beef supplying a very local butcher who opened a shop on our farm in 2018. We also use our grassland to make hay and haylage for sale. After converting two more redundant farm buildings we now have:- A butcher who sells a fantastic range of high quality local meat togerther with a well-stocked delicatessen, eggs, milk and a wide range of fruit and vegetables. A bakery and patisserie who sells very 'more-ish' bread, cakes and local ice cream. An off-licence that sells craft gins, ciders, beers and wine for you to enjoy as you unwind on our CL on a pleasant summer evening. Please note that the shops on site close at 4pm on Saturdays and open again on Tuesdays. The CL is situated a field away from the road and away from the retail area so it remains a quiet site with a high hedge to the north and lower hedges around the other three sides. It is slightly sloping so levelling blocks may be required. We keep it mown and the hook-ups are well spaced to allow maximum choice for enjoying the views across the valley. We have a village a mile away which has a very good newsagents/grocery/alcohol store (open early till late, 7 days a week) and a hair and beauty salon. There are two pubs in Yoxall, The Golden Cup and The Crown and a five minute walk from our site is The Foresters Arms. All provide good food but booking is advisable. There are plenty of places to visit without travelling too far and many choose us as we are not far from The National Memorial Arboretum. Other places include the Cathedral city of Lichfield, Burton on Trent brewing museum, the National Forest Visitor Centre, Cannock Chase, Uttoxeter Racecourse, Barton Marina and Fradley Junction on the canal, Ashbourne (gateway to the Peak District) is a thirty minute drive away and further afield are the Potteries at Stoke on Trent. Local historic houses include Sudbury Hall, Shugborough, Calke Abbey and Keddleston Hall. If you like historic traditions there is the Abbots Bromley Horn Dance in September when the dancers travel around the picturesque village carrying ancient antlers and dancing throughout the day as they have done for centuries.
