Mid Devon geographically lies in a central position between the South and North Devon coastlines and is close to the rugged terrain of Dartmoor.

It’s a good location for those who wish to relax in a quiet and peaceful location and for those who love the outdoors, from dog walking the network of footpaths to the more adventurous for wild swimming.

Beare Mill CL is a mile from the vibrant town of Crediton, full of coffee shops as you venture behind the busy Main Street to the town square that lies behind. A food market happens bi-weekly and often music and activities are live in the square. The town has an impressive Cathedral sized church from the 10th Century when it was the centre for Devon and Cornwall. The Town likes to claim its part in the rise of the Christmas Tree tradition when St Boniface cited the first Christmas tree in the church in the 8th Century.

The city of Exeter is 7 miles and easily reached by bus or train. The city is full of shops and restaurants and more outdoor adventures can be found on the quay, canoes can be hired and wildlife cruises can be taken on the River Exe.

After a busy day sightseeing, Beare Mill is a safe haven, a river runs parallel and can be accessed at the end of the CL, the local kingfishers and herons are often spotted. The most comment compliments are that it’s a lovely and relaxing place to visit that photos do not do it justice and the shower is appreciated!
