The CL site has a private 4 acre woodland for you to use, with a gated exit onto the network of public footpaths. The pitches are on a large meadow, with lots of wildflowers resulting in butterflies and birds aplenty. Pin Mill is only 1 mile away and has a tidal foreshore which is a muddy heaven for children, so bring wellies or jelly shoes so they can enjoy messing about in the shallow water. Pinmill Common has a play and picnic area, and café. Chelmondiston Playing Fields have park equipment including a zip wire, tennis courts. Child friendly activities in the local area include a large bouncy pillow at Suffolk Foodhall, beach walks on sand, shingle and mud Bus stop within a few hundred yards of the site entrance which goes to Ipswich and Shotley Gate, which has a large marina for boat watching, from small yachts to lightships, to large shipping across the haven at Felixstowe. There is a small sandy beach nearby and a lock to watch boats coming and going.
